This page contains a sample designs for traditional quilts I have created--usually as gifts for someone. Traditional quilts are those that have been created using traditional quilting materials and methods. Simply Strips This quilt is made up of strips of various widths in your desired colors/patterns.This straightforward quilt does not have a border, it is backed with a single fabric and is finished with a pillowcase edging.It comes in two sizes:$40 Crib-sized (34 X 40) or $65 Throw (40 X 60) $65.
Square in a Square Quilts This square-shaped quilt is made of blocks which look like off-set squares inside another square.This quirky quilt has charming simplicity and comes in two sizes: The $60 baby quilt (36 X 36) contains 16-8 blocks and the $85 Large Lap Quilt (54 X 54) contains 16-12 blocks. Once blocks are sewn together the quilt is then bordered or framed with your choice of fabric and finished with a contrasting double-rolled binding.
Mix-dont-Match Quilts Unlike the traditional quilt, this whimsical throw uses squares and rectangles of different sizes that are not meant to match up when it is put together. It is backed with a single fabric and finished with a pillowcase edging. The $60 Crib-sized quilt measures 34 X 40 and the $85 Throw measures approximately 40 X 60 and is even big enough for an adult to use.
Quillows A quillow is a blanket which folds into a pillow when not in use. When unfolded, it has a pocket for your feet.This custom-made quilt comes in two sizes: $45 Crib-sized (34 X 40) and $70Throw (40 X 50) and allows you to choose one quilt block pattern for the pillow pocket. Four photos may be substituted for the quilt block for a $10 total fee.(See below for possible patterns.) Each block is bordered or framed with a fabric in your color choice, called sashing, and also has an additional border framing the pocket.
Pieced/Photo Wall Hangings Create a picture gallery to celebrate or remember a special person or event, or just keep it simple with traditional quilt patterns. This personalized, custom-made wall-hanging comes in four sizes in a square layout. For example:The 2X2 size means there are two blocks across and down for a total of 4 blocks.You can choose to fill all blocks with photos, alternate your photos with another quilting pattern or have all blocks contain a quilt pattern. (See below for possible patterns.) Photos are printed and trimmed to a 6 X 6, which is the same size as the blocks with quilting patterns. Each block is bordered or framed with a fabric in your color choice, called sashing, and the entire quilt is then bordered with a 3 border. Each quilt has tabs decoratively added to the quilt for easy hanging. Wall Hangings are priced as follows:
